13-Year-Old Mubarak Scores 12 Points on Debut: Qatar Lose to Thailand, but Which Door Is Opening?

Mubarak's debut is the brightest storyline. However, focusing only on the prodigy narrative would hide important tactical signals. His 12 points came from five kill blocks, two aces and five successful attacks. An opposite usually scores mostly from attacks. Having as many blocks as successful attacks means either exceptional reading ability or a reception system that could not create comfortable attacking situations for him.
